We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support our growing business operations in the United States. This role will be instrumental in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will act as the key contact for US accounting and tax compliance advisors while liaising closely with our group finance management.
What will be your agenda?
- Maintain accounting records: manage (received and issued) invoices, bank imports and reconciliation, sub-ledger balance reconciliations, and resolve open items.
- Handle asset management (limited).
- Manage payments, communicate with banks and payment services providers.
- Handle intercompany transactions.
- Prepare annual financial statements and management accounts.
- Draft accounting policies.
- Collaborate with external advisors on sales tax, income tax and other tax compliance.
- Cooperate with external auditors and prepare supporting documents.
- Liaise with the tax authorities.
- Manage ad-hoc tasks in accounting and finance.
- Maintain intense communication with the head office in the Czech Republic.
What do we expect from you?
- Minimum of 4 years experience in complex accounting, including financial statements, reports, and tax calculations.
- Degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance, or a qualified accountant certification.
- Experience working in a multinational group environment and in FX brokerage is ideal.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work independently while proactively finding solutions.
- Preferred experience with Xero (or an equivalent tool).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (XLOOKUP, IF, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and handling large datasets).
- Strong understanding of current accounting and tax regulations.
- A proactive approach to work with a willingness to grow and develop further.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new applications and software within the company.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
