We are looking for an experienced software engineer who bridges the gap between traditional PHP development and cutting-edge AI orchestration. As our PHP SW Engineer & AI Evangelist, you will be a key player in revolutionising how our teams build software. Your primary mission is to transform the daily workflows of our PHP engineers, driving a significant increase in developer productivity. You will act as an early adopter and mentor, closely collaborating with our AI Lead to leverage advanced AI agents and tools, while keeping your hands firmly in the code of our core legacy systems.

What’s in store for you?

AI Agent Orchestration: You will go far beyond basic prompting. You will define subagents, build automated skills, and orchestrate AI workflows to tackle complex coding tasks. You will take ownership of optimising AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files to push the limits of our repositories.
Transforming Developer Productivity: Your goal is to fundamentally change how our engineers work. You will actively seek out opportunities to integrate the latest AI approaches into our daily routines, putting a heavy emphasis on measurable, significant productivity increases.
Evangelism & Mentorship: You will be the internal guide for our software engineering team. Recognising that some teammates may be conservative regarding AI, you will use your deep PHP knowledge to earn their trust, conducting hands-on workshops and pair-programming sessions to help them master AI-assisted development.
Hands-on Core Development: To be a credible evangelist, you must be a practitioner. You will spend a significant portion of your time working directly on the legacy PHP FTMO Core system, as well as on new microservices. Navigating this legacy codebase alongside the team is how you will anchor your AI solutions in reality.
Strategic Collaboration: You will cooperate closely with our AI Lead to align on broader technological strategies, acting as the boots-on-the-ground force that turns AI theory into deployed reality.

What do we expect from you, and what other tools do we use?

Advanced AI Tooling Expertise: You have demonstrable, advanced experience with cutting-edge AI coding assistants, specifically Claude Code, Gemini Code Assist or GitHub Copilot. You understand the intricacies of agent orchestration and how to fine-tune AI environments for maximum code generation and refactoring efficiency.
Strong Senior PHP Foundation: Deep, practical PHP knowledge is mandatory. You need the ability to grapple with a legacy monolith just as comfortably as you do with a modern microservice. Expert awareness of design patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is required to gain the respect and buy-in of the existing engineering team.
Exceptional Soft Skills & Empathy: You are a natural teacher. You possess the patience and communication skills needed to introduce disruptive AI workflows to conservative developers without alienating them.
Commitment to Quality: Proficiency in writing strong type-testable code and validating it using tools like PHPStan and PHPUnit. AI writes the code faster, but you ensure the quality remains uncompromised.
Our Core Stack: We use GitLab for CI/CD, Docker on Kubernetes for hosting, and tools like Sentry, Grafana, and ELK for monitoring. We also use Redis, Kafka, Python, JavaScript, Twig, and Tailwind.
Organisation and Communication: We use Asana and Google Workspace to organise our work. Fluent communication skills in both Czech and English are a must.
